I want change. A lot of people I know want change. We're all so fragmented now, at a time when we need community and solidarity. Where can we rally to? A sum of individual voices won't fix it.

We need electoral funding reform. We already have laws we just need to plug all the loopholes and tighten it up....a lot. I'd like to think it's not to late for us.
And surely there's a loophole that can be used to make lobbying illegal
I’d like to see use celebrate tax payment too, as a vital action of citizenship. Without taxation, our currency lacks legitimacy. Without a sovereign currency, our civilisation becomes a farm. Citizens are demoted to consumers, another word for stock units. For a farming nation, we seem slow to realise we are being farmed
Perhaps something like “NZ Coalition government changes law to protect banks and their profits undermining justice for the people”.
Tafhg, thanks for your article it was news to me that the govt was doing this to assist the banks. Gutting! Totally agree with your assessment of our demise. Is it really too late to course correct? Is there any way the current chaos in the US could be used as a cautionary tale for the future of Aotearoa if we keep sitting idly by while Luxon and Seymour et al sell us out?

The single most important thing for us to understand is our monetary system. …which everyone lies to us about.
Social credit / public finance is called modern monetary theory (magic money tree! It does exist!)
It’s 5000 years old; and its absence from Nz political economy suggests ignorance, incompetence or corruption
